A healthy dog is easy to recognise - lively eyes , energetic and with a bright shiny coat. This is my dog Booger .  My name is April and i would like to share my webpage  about dogs and my experiences with Booger.  To have a healthy happy dog, there has to be considerations to the dog food, dog training, dog grooming, dog living environment and dog medication. But i think the most important of all this is dog food.

What about Dog Food ? Human need healthy food to live longer . Dogs are very much the same .Dogs need a diet rich in mineral , vitamins , carbohydrates and fats.  Some owners , because they love their dog very much , tend to over feed .  This causes obesity .  Just like some fat humans , fat dogs will suffer health problems such as heart problems , kidney failure etc. 

Choosing Healthy Food For Your Dog

Today’s pet food market is larger and more diverse than ever before.  While this offers a large number of choices in various types of pet food, it also presents a dilemma in choosing the healthiest food for your dog.  Are generic or store brands suitable for a dog?  What about familiar name brands like Purina and Alpo?  Are the pricier brands that advertise specially formulated ingredients (Science Diet, Eukanuba) really living up to their claims and worth the extra money?  All of these are valid questions that loving dog owners deserve to have answered.

Nutrition-Related Diseases

The idea that one pet food provides all the nutrition a companion animal will ever need for its entire life is a     dangerous myth

Today, the diets of cats and dogs are a far cry from the variable meat-based diets that their ancestors ate. The unpleasant results of grain-based, processed, year-in and year-out diets are common. Health problems are normally associated with  such diet 

World-famous vet and dog-care author Alfred Plechner, says the poor nutritional properties of commercial dog food inevitably lead to disease..   "Because many commercial foods are woefully deficient in key nutrients, the long term effect of feeding such foods makes the dog hypersensitive to its environment. . . . It's a dinosaur effect. [Dogs] are being programmed for disaster, for extinction. Many of them are biochemical cripples with defective adrenal glands unable to manufacture adequate cortisol, a hormone vital for health and resistance to disease."

Scary huh ! 

What Did I Do Next ?

Simple !  I took all the commercial dog food and them away . 

And So started my adventure ! I read different books on How To Prepare Dog Food . Surprise surprise, it was easy, fast, simple and most of all my dog, booger, loved every one of them .
